Sandra McGrath

I have worked in the area of mental health for over 20 years. Firstly with children with autism, then managing services for people with the dual diagnosis of mental health and intellectual disability. I moved then into regulation within the inspectorate of the Mental Health Commission – inspecting in-patient psychiatric services nationally. I have previously sat on a Board of Management in a large addiction agency.

Currently I work part time for a mental health charity as their Governance, Compliance and Risk Manager – I train the Board on Governance and responsibility and ensure effective structures for meeting legislative and regulatory requirements within the charity sector. I also work part-time as a psychotherapist. I am part contracted to RCSI, working with medical, pharmacy and physio students. I also lecture once a year on a Social Studies programme.
