Kayla Hand

Kayla is a PE and Geography teacher who recently graduated with a BSc Honours Degree in Physical Education and Geography from the University of Limerick. Originally from Monaghan, she is delighted to have joined the school community at Belmayne Educate Together Secondary School. She is passionate about creating engaging, student-centred lessons that encourage participation, teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment both inside and outside the classroom.

Alongside her passion for Physical Education, Kayla has a strong interest in Geography and enjoys helping students develop an understanding of the world around them, from physical landscapes and environmental issues to global cultures and sustainability. She aims to make Geography relevant, interactive, and connected to students’ everyday lives.

Sport, fitness, and wellbeing have always played a major role in Kayla’s life. She enjoys Hyrox training in the gym, going for walks, and taking part in football and basketball whenever possible. Through both PE and Geography, she hopes to inspire and foster a lifelong appreciation for healthy, active lifestyles while encouraging students to challenge themselves, work collaboratively, and build positive habits that support their overall wellbeing.
