Marta is currently a Guidance Counsellor at Belmayne ETSS. She holds a Psychology Masters Degree applied to Education by Trinity College Dublin, and previously completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication at London Metropolitan University.
Marta has lived and worked in education between England, Ireland and Portugal for over 12 years, which only contributed to her passion for different cultures, languages (she speaks 4 languages!) and inclusive learning from all backgrounds. Starting her career as a teacher and an innate interest in Mental Health, as well as learning about her students’ personal struggles and special needs, inspired Marta to become an educational psychologist and help her students succeed and live happy lives.
Marta has been a creative person ever since she remembers and enjoys painting and drawing in her free time, especially scientific illustration, due to her passion for biology and the natural world. This love for illustration has allowed Marta to contribute to numerous creative projects over the years, including work for the National Autistic Society and 21st Century Fox.
Working in education allows Marta to mix all of her passions and hobbies together, such as working with young people, mental health, psychology, sports, art and languages; and apply it to the well being of students and young people, inspiring them to listen to their qualities and not being scared of being themselves.
Marta hopes to bring her caring and empathic personality and experience in special needs and student career guidance to all Belmayne ETSS students, to help them grow and succeed on a personal and academic level.
