Maths Week by Timur Ciparsons

On the 7/10/22 Maths Week started with a blast In Belmayne ETSS!

The students were given maths problems at the start of the day to solve with their classmates this was an enjoyable and fun way to get everyone to use their maths brains and work together to figure out the answers!

There was also an amazing baking competition.

Everyone tried their very best to show the judges that they were worthy for first place

All the desserts looked amazing and tasted good too.

And a special  shout out to the winners of the competition, there was 5 overall winners are the judges just couldn’t choose one!

‘Trick or Treat’ for CHI Hospitals by Caitlin White

On the last day before our October midterm break we supported ‘Trick or Treat’ for Children’s Health Ireland.

It was an amazing end to our 1st term as staff & students dressed up in their best Halloween outfits and donated €2 to the charity.

During the assembly each tutor group got up and walked down the catwalk to Halloween Music but the teachers stole the show as they strutted their stuff down the catwalk.

There were prizes for best costume and best performance on the catwalk.

There was many amazing costumes and it was very fun to see them while you walked to classes.

Boy’s football league run ends

Last Monday Belmayne ETSS played a league match in the last 16 with unfortunate results.

Belmayne ETSS boys football team lost 5-1 in its most recent match, while not the result that some were hoping for, we can assure you that 100% was given by all players who participated in the match.

Shout out to Jack Winkless for scoring the Penalty and overall outstanding performance. Some complaints about foul play but through the whole match the boys did not show a glimmer of surrender. With this enthusiasm we are sure that the boys will do phenomenally in future league games.

First School Event – Sports Day

There was a buzz about the place Friday morning, everyone was looking forward to our first school event of 2020.

6 teams and all to play for. There was cricket, rugby, rounders, football, relay races and experts on hand to give some sound advice to our budding players.

There was a great atmosphere, shoes fell off while jumping high, falls and bumps and epic tackles. Ita and Fiona went head to head in the sprint walking – Fiona “won” but her win was surrounded by allegations of cheating (bit of running thrown in), without VAR we’ll agree to call it a draw!

The day was finished off with an ice cream and everyone went home exhausted but happy.
